Sophie C. Pouteau is honored to be the owner of the Tutor Doctor Franchises from which she is able to easily service the Lamorida, San Ramon Valley, San Francisco, and the Greater Bay Area. Thanks to the e-tutoring platform, her roster of highly qualified and dedicated tutors reaches out to your doorstep. Tutor Doctor clients include pre-kindergarteners, clients with learning challenges and special needs. We work with ESL, foreign language learners, students needing help with language arts, math, reading, social studies, history, science, computer science, engineering and technology; those needing to improve their study skills, focus and organizational skills; scholars preparing for STAR, LSAT, ERB, GED, AP, SAT and other exams, and mature learners. Often ignored is the fact that our Tutors will also Mentor elite students anxious to gain acceptance to the best Colleges and Universities.
After a successful career in both the technology industry and education, and working in roles ranging from educational administrator, to management consultant, to business development director of an international telecommunication firm, to market researcher, Sophie C. Pouteau decided to refocus her energy in an area where she would make a more direct impact on improving the lives of the families in her community. Her love of children and passion for learning motivated her to join the National US Tutor Doctor Franchise team in 2010.
Sophie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Marketing and Management from Baruch College in New York, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and a Master's in Business Administration, both from Saint Mary's College of California. Sophie is also volunteering her time helping the Business Development Department for a non-profit organization working to break down the economic and social barriers to education in South Africa. Sophie has two young children; Olivia and Quentin.
About 10 years ago, John Hooi had a simple idea and a desire to make a difference. He wondered why parents had to adjust their family's busy schedules and drive half way across town just to put their child in another classroom with more kids...when in fact it was the classroom experience that their child was struggling with in the first place.
Over the last 10 years, the Tutor Doctor vision has taken shape. In 2003 the company turned to franchising as a way of expanding the company's impact and meeting the vast market demand.
Now, with outlets around the English-Speaking World, the Tutor Doctor vision is becoming a reality through the decentralized expertise of local franchisees who bring to their clientele the personal attention upon which the entire company is founded.
